Effective financial planning is a highly personal and individualized process.

Before David Bernard can speak intelligently about a financial plan for you or give you insurance or investment advice, he needs to get to know you.  And, before you can feel comfortable sharing your goals and dreams, you need to get to know him.

David has been with Northwestern Mutual since 1982.  As a Wealth Management Advisor with Northwestern Mutual of Albuquerque, David has the series 6, 63, 66, and 7 licenses with FINRA.  He is also an Investment Advisor Representative with the Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company.  David views himself as a problem solver and financial advisor; he uses the financial plans built for his clients as the road map for any advice given, including the recommendation of an insurance or investment product.

David has strong relationships with his clients.  Some of those relationships are now personal as much as professional and have lasted as long as he has been in this business.  David maintains that the profit in his financial services practice is the relationships formed with his clients, not in the transactions.  In his insurance and investment practice, it is the financial plans and the clients' needs and circumstances that drive any recommendation he makes.

Financial plans, tax laws, clients' circumstances and clients themselves, will all change over time.  David's team understands that fact.  It is important to stay in touch with clients throughout their life.  As necessary, David is committed to revising clients' financial plans and updating their life insurance, other insurance, and investment needs.  In fact, one of David's strengths is the ability to transition a client's investment portfolio from an accumulation task to a distribution strategy in retirement years.
